My daughter has just turned six years old and her attitude towards me, her step father and our other daughter (who is three) has become one I would expect to get from a hormone charged teenager. She completely dominates the household, it seems whatever mood she is in affects the rest of us and everyone is miserable. We have tried time out (has never worked), we have taken away things she loves (she just doesn't care) and we have also held her back from attending her friends birthday parties or visits to places etc due to her bad behaviour. We even set up a green card system - she gets a green card for good behaviour and she loses one for bad behaviour, it lasted for three days! I just don't know what to try next.

I have exactly the same situation, my daughter is slightly younger 5 and a half. My husband and I are at our wits end with this behaviour too. It is a daily occurrence and her temper can fly off at any moment. She will throw stuff, tell us she hates us and hurt us or her brother. We too have also tried removing her favourate things and cancelling play dates, none of which she seems to care about long term. It is really affecting the family an I would appreciate any advice so we can get some sort of handle on the situation.
